Photo Friday-Body

Photo Friday's theme today is "Body"

This is the body of a "Romanesque broccoli," unsung hero of the vegetable world. Have you ever seen anything like it?

I am convinced that if this vegetable was a human, it would be a brilliant math
genius who took lots of mushrooms.

THANK YOU!!! I saw some of that stuff in the Organic Open Air Market in Paris and had no idea what it was because there was no sign for it. It's almost too beautiful to eat!

Perceptions do not limit reality.

If you would be unloved and forgotten, be reasonable.

I love this picture! How beautiful! Have I just overlooked this vibrant vegetable? Does it taste similar to brocoli?

I definitely prefer romanesco to cauliflor...I hate caulifor, but love this dude! Also, because after cooking, it still looks so highly appealing...it's a sheer joy on our table :)

Wow! I've never seen a vegetable like this before?

How do you cook it ? Or is it to be displayed and admired only?

I was just pointing these out to my Mom at the market today. They are like cauliflower and so cool looking!

That's the coolest vegetable I've ever seen! When I was in the Garden Club in 5th grade, we made animals out of vegetables (kind of like the book "Play With Your Food") - yowza! What kind of amazing porcupine/space alien could you make with this? It's almost fractal!

I also need to mention that I absolutely LOVE your journal - it's like a cool drink of water on a muggy day!

Andrea,
I've been reading your blog for a few months. I got to you from a mention in Sark's book and from your site have found so many other GREAT blogs - it's opened up a great resource for me. BUT, I want to say, of all the sites I visit, yours stands out aesthetically. It's the simplicity of your photography that does it for me - how you choose one subject but focus in on it so deeply. Hey, and today, I dig your broccoli comments. THANKS! and keep it comin! PS - Are you on webbery.com @ Burning Man this year?
