These ads will blow yer mind folks. Comments
Ben & jerry are one of few and have something people are addicted to. I do not think the person who posted said what they said based on their own politics. Sex, Religion and politics are something a great many people do not want brought into everyday conversations, whether it should be or not, you know? Posted by: Meghan at January 31, 2004 11:56 PMYou shouldn't bring politics into the sales mix? Tell that to Ben and Jerry. Posted by: maggie at January 18, 2004 03:52 PMi am an art student at Northeastern University and i am actually a supporter of Bush, however i thought these ads were amazingly well done. The one called child's play was so amazing and made the point so clear. i really enjoyed them so thanks for sharing them Posted by: abbie at January 13, 2004 03:11 PMI think it's funny how a neutral statement ("these ads will blow your mind") can be taken as either a negative or a positive, depending on the reader's political views. You have said nothing wrong. Posted by: beth at January 12, 2004 12:08 PMAloha Andrea! Take good care and be brave! Posted by: pt*:) at January 12, 2004 11:38 AMI hope that what I said didn't suggest I was offended. I cherish what you post here- I like the idea of everyone sharing. I know that you don't write for us only to reply, but I think that a culmination of ideas is beautiful... making sense? Anyway, i have enjoyed watching these clips and even showing other people, whether or not I agree with them. Likewise, I didn't think that all of the ideas were automatically shared by you. Thanks for sharing them and for having the courage to let people respond to what you post. Posted by: Matthew at January 11, 2004 05:21 PMnot only will i continue to buy my most favorite jewelry from here, but i look forward to more journal entries which will give me the opportunity to feel, hear, and see other views... different angles. not for one moment did i feel you were pitching anything, you were simply presenting some interesting ads...and even if you want to pitch, this is your space, and i encourage you to be free with it. i am grateful for what you share here. and i hope i never get to a place in my life in which i walk away from people just because they dont exactly match my belief system. Posted by: jen at January 11, 2004 09:09 AMHmm..someone who would like us to buy, but in a soft way brings politics into the sales mix. I'm not even a Republican. Stand at a sales counter, boutique or even a festival and bring in politics in front of the customers and see how far that goes. No difference. Not doing it. Now. Buying from this website that is. I was here to look at a particular necklace I was interested in. I cant view the clips right now, but i just wanted to say the flowers are gorgeous! Abs x Okay, I am a fine arts student, a vegetarian, an environmentalist (no, re-word that, more like a conservationist). I approve of excellence in an art form and I am a seeker of truth. I have a lingering distaste for dirty politics and ingorant mud-slinging. I will state the positive first: I really thought that the two commercials called Child's Play and Human Cost of War were excellently rendered works with some poignant topics (whether or not they really pretain to Bush). If Bush is really a force to be reckoned with or pushed back then people need to approach that dialogue with facts and not media endorsed opinions. Despite increasing conspiracy opinions, there is a checks-and-balance system in our government. There is also residue from previous administrations. I am not really looking for a debate. I am not a Republican nor do I think any person is flawless. But a lot of these commercials reminded me of Michael Moore, who I heard lecture in Cincinnati this semester, and came to realize clearly that much of what he 'reports' is taken grossly out of context. I don't know, as much as I enjoy the tones and proactivity of these clips, I'm concerned that they are a little false and/or misdirected. Posted by: matthew at January 8, 2004 05:00 PMthe one called "What are We Teaching Our Kids" gave me chills. the one called "Imagine" made me cry.
