August 20, 2004Photo Friday-Analog
Photo Friday's theme this week is "Analog." {the challenge is that we are supposed to post photos taken with film} * A friend of mine has a sister who is developmentally disabled and is a very talented artist. He loves photography and gifted her a disposable camera, very excited and curious about what she would capture. A few weeks later, he returned home for a visit and asked her how she liked the camera. "I loved it!" she said enthusiastically. “Didn't you shoot any photos on the camera I gave you?” Comments
great photograph andrea, i love it. the texture is great. very grainy. this reminds me of film... it looks like you've cut a single frame and posted it. great choice for photo friday! jenn Posted by: jenn at August 23, 2004 08:42 AMHow brilliant is that? Posted by: Tchatchke at August 23, 2004 04:41 AMhaha - that's a great story. Cool picture too, lovely graininess Posted by: Kristen at August 22, 2004 07:03 PMI laughed and I cried!!! I loved this story. As a teacher of special ed. children, This story so perfectly illustrates the way many of them look at life. I guess the message here is that it really is all about the journey, not the destination. Great post, Andrea. You rock! :) Posted by: Julia at August 21, 2004 01:18 PMit's always nice to be reminded of the process and not the end result. being present... i think i'll go with that today! xo Posted by: stef at August 21, 2004 09:40 AMAh, what a beautiful story! If only we could live our lives with more fun and more abandon. Just do it, then forget about it! Hmmm...I think I'll try that! Posted by: Andrea at August 20, 2004 10:47 PMWhat a great story!! And probably how we should all live our lives, at least on some level... Posted by: Jennifer at August 20, 2004 04:47 PMToo sweet of a story. Posted by: ani at August 20, 2004 04:32 PMandrea, i have been checking out your site for a couple of years & i just enjoy it tremendously & today after reading your latest entry & being inspired & giggling for the gizillionth time, i see it's time to tell you: thank you, andrea, for sharing all of your creations with me/us! enjoy! Posted by: meg at August 20, 2004 12:48 PMI love that you chose a photobooth photo for the analog challenge! I was interested to see what you would select. :) Posted by: kat at August 20, 2004 12:23 PMlovely photo of you and beautiful story. i have a friend who has a severely developmentally disabled uncle who takes hundreds and millions of photos with an old 110 camera that doesn't have film in it. Posted by: lena at August 20, 2004 11:31 AMgreat choice - a photo booth photo. :) The story is a nice one too. I get way too wrapped up and involved in the end result, sometimes. It's nice to be reminded to have passion for the process. Posted by: rachael at August 20, 2004 10:11 AMYou are beautiful.
