vintage found photo
I found this vintage photo at a flea market and love it for all its light leaks and sepia tones and the car that looks so enormous from the perspective of the camera.
And then it's fun to wonder about the girl leaning against the car. What was her life like? Why was she in the woods? Who was on the other side of the camera? Was it a man, a woman, a lover, a friend?
Why was her image discarded in a bin full of dusty old things?
....

your found photo reminds me of this ... my local newspaper prints old photos people have submitted. i have a clipped copy of a photo of two women in their 20s(?) in oversized bib overalls and boxing gloves duking it out in a field. it's hilarious. i should find it.

Found old photos are the best.
I used to work in a photo lab, and we often did re-touches on very old family photos. Ones like these. I loved it.
I vote for a lover by the way...at least that is the wonderful fantasy in my head. Forbidden moments caught on Silver Nitrate.

Totally off-topic: I went back and read some of your older posts, and it's so nice to see how your perspective has shifted in little ways, coinciding with little shifts in your life. Maybe we're all like the earth in California, shifting by fractions of a millimeter everyday so we don't notice the change.
Anyways, your photography and posts so moved me, and I wondered if I invited such richness into my life in the form of new friends and new experiences, what would be the result? I look forward to finding out!

I love old photos. I love to look at the people and think about their lives and exactlly as you have also pondered, why are their photos in some flea market. I always counter that sad thought with the idea that I am giving them a new home and new life. I found a booth at the St James Art Fair in Louisville KY where the woman took old discarded photos and made wonderful 3-D collages from them! Wish she had a web site, but she did not.
