honored

I had the honor of making a collection of custom bracelets in honor of an amazing woman named Patty. It was incredible to be a part of this family's ritual of celebrating her life. You can read about Patty and her family here .

...

Amy Komar suggested we do something special today... I feel a bit shy to share it, but she very kindly suggested that we all think good happy baby thoughts for Matt and I today and begin the month off with the power and strength of all the amazing people who come to this site. I feel really moved by her offer. If you feel like holding me in your heart today, I would be so honored.

"The lesson which life repeats and constantly enforces is "look under foot." You are always nearer the divine and the true sources of your power than you think. The lure of the distant and the difficult is deceptive. The great opportunity is where you are. Do not despise your own place and hour. Every place is under the stars, every place is the center of the world."

Sweet baby, your parents are ready to welcome you into their lovenest!

Posted by: Kalah at April 10, 2005 09:19 PM

Andrea, I have been without a computer lately and have really missed reading your sweet, beautiful blog.

This may sound like an odd way to pray, but I think it just speaks of confidence in God. And I know there is power in gratitude. Somehow, for me, praying Thank You feels more effective than praying Please. So, I like to thank God in advance whenever possible:

Gracious and loving God, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for Andrea and Matt's precious, healthy baby! Thank you for the loving, nurturing mother you have raised Andrea to be. Thank you for the family you are creating and for the joy they will bring to each other. We thank you, God, that nothing is beyond your reach and absolutely nothing is too difficult for you. Amen!

though I just sent you a separate post, I had to respond to this one too after just reading it. I'm just embarking on this whole process myself with my husband, Gene, and so I will keep a beautiful cranberry red candle lit all day beside my desk while I work with a prayer that this will be your time. "Nothing is too wonderful to be true."

I'm a few days late- but not a dollor short! Thinking good thoughts for you. I always think about how the particular baby you have depends on the particular moment you conceive (because you have millions of possiblitys, right?). So... perhaps you're particular baby is waiting for it's moment.

Although I'm seeing this post two days 'late,' I always hold good thoughts for you and Matt...and hope that you both will enjoy the journey set before you...as it unfolds in its perfectness. Lovely Burroughs quote. Awesome photos of Marcia (and I'll bet you've inspired her as much as she has you.) P.S. I, too, am a sucker for someone who cries easily...since I'm one myself. :)

Your own womb is lush and ready
Readying for the new soul who is busy
choosing you and Matt (lucky, smart little Being)
I see this
I feel it in my heart
Your child of the Light is on its way to you
I cannot wait to see your lovely swollen tummy here

To the Lovely A ~
A brand new day, a brand new month -- a world of blessing bestowed on you and Matt for the creation of a little one. I greeted today riding the subway into Manhattan, sprinkling all sorts of positive wishes for you and Matt onto the sleepy city. I honor you and your deep desire for a little life kicking inside you! **Thank you for being brave and calling forth the power and magic of our thoughts, you honored my idea and in turn we honor your hearts wish! It's just a matter of time lady!!!!!

Posted by: Amy at April 1, 2005 10:11 AM

I will send you positive baby-making thoughts. When I was 27 I thought "it is time for a baby". My baby did not come until 5-1/2 years later after many tests, surgery and drugs. I was lucky that modern medicine could help me conceive. Adam is 21 and Ryan is now 19...no trouble making Ryan though! Do not ever give up hope and if you wish...do not give up until you have tried everything that nature and modern medicine has to offer.

I read the article on Patty and cried...what a courageous woman with a loving family. I weep for Patty and also for her boys who will be left without her for a time.
