My friend Marcia above, getting ready for the incredible Sunday pool party she organizes called Feather. Think lots of sunshine, fruity cocktails galore, and pretty gay boys to flirt with. The next one is October 16th at the Bambuddha Lounge {previously the Phoenix Hotel} Other delights: Beautiful images of storms The clouds last week...

i heart the phoenix hotel! i love that the shallow end of the pool says "andy warhol", and the deep end says "marcel duchmp". that rules! Posted by: chrissy at October 2, 2005 04:33 PMI was always in awe with the clouds in San Francisco. Their movements, their patterns, all of it was simply spectacular. Posted by: Jaime at October 2, 2005 12:44 PMi live in stockholm and i just realised i haven't even seen the city hall ~ i guess the prettiest things, for me, are the secret streets that bend & twist their own old way around the blocks... Nature is so beautiful - and so powerful and dangerous. Posted by: Jo at October 1, 2005 04:51 PMwell, i was going to post jsut to tell you how lovely the clouds picture is. Then, i went to the link on Storm phots... OMG! It took my breath away. I was raised in hurricane country, but i've never seen such magnitude, such ominous glory and deadly beauty. thank you!! Posted by: Teece at September 30, 2005 05:04 PMThe storm photos are amazing. Posted by: Lu at September 30, 2005 01:24 PMThe virtual sweden panoramic view makes me so home sick for the Stockholm Archipelago I'm almost crying. That is the type of place I spent all my summers as a kid. They don't have views like that here in London. huge, puffy, cotton ball clouds...yippee!! Posted by: Jennifer at September 29, 2005 06:32 PMWow...awesome cloud shot! Posted by: G-Man at September 29, 2005 04:07 PMOnce I was in the bathroom at a bar and I heard some women talking (I was in a stall, they were in front of the mirror). One of them said she was "putting on her Ho Gloss." She said it in a sassy way, like she was going to go out there with her ho gloss on and take no prisoners. Whenever I put on lip gloss I think about it and smile. You can not look at those storm pics and not have emmense respect for Mother Nature. I live in West Texas, in the heart of Tornado Alley. Storms have always frightned me because of their dangerous potential around here - too many memories of hiding in a closet, taking cover. I've always looked forward to the day I will live some place where I can enjoy storms a little more. Posted by: Michelle Ensminger at September 29, 2005 11:13 AMinspiring clouds, andrea. just beautiful. Posted by: danielle at September 29, 2005 11:06 AMthe picture of your friend looks so 70s! maybe it's the gold lame, maybe it's the care with which she puts on her lipgloss reminds me watching my mother get ready for guests when she was young and hip and fabulous. the clouds are intense and ominous, though i can see a butterfly...
