I was just reminded that this is the first day of spring! I've been amazed watching these guys open.

"And then the day came,
when the risk
to remain tight
in a bud
was more painful
than the risk
it took
to blossom."

I am so in love with that top photo! :)

Posted by: french toast girl at March 25, 2006 08:56 AM

beautiful!
that is my most favorite quote ever. i always thing back to it when i'm stuck and unhappy with a part of my life, and i am reminded that its more painful to be in that particular situation than it would be to make that big giant leap to change. and you know what? i've never been disappointed with any of the leaps i've taken!!!
thank you for sharing!!!!!

Beautiful, I hope it's a good one.

Your photos get better and better. These are just lovely. Just as the weather becomes lovely for you it has turned chilly overnight and winter comes to the Great Southland.
Keep taking beautiful photos.

absolutely wonderful images.

Posted by: steph at March 22, 2006 05:09 AM

beautiful andrea. and i so had to smile, as just the other day, working on more of the "quote" project...

and this was one of them in my hands, on my mind, in my heart. that i had to write it down on paper, just to brand it into my mind again.

and then the joy of rediscovering the words here again.

yes, definitely words to be written on our hearts.

and then your beautiful poppies... your photography. you captured this with such delicacy, honesty, sensitivity...

beautifully.

Andrea...As always, your photos are the equivalent of creme brulee~ delicious! I see a few others have asked you the same, but I would also love to know what kind of lens you use. I absolutely love the filtery-glow of these photos. I hope you are happy and healthy!

I am loving the quotes and the photos Andrea. I especially love the fact that I have been thinking about them when I'm not in front of my computer...like in the car this morning on a grey Michigan morning. Even if I don't have much color outside, this is color for my head :-)

Posted by: Jennifer at March 21, 2006 07:49 AM

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It's first thing in the morning here and what a great way to start the day - gorgeous pics and encouraging words.

Posted by: Sarah Jane at March 21, 2006 07:38 AM

Breathtaking! They look like paintings...just beautiful.

Quick question: What kind of lens are you using to accomplish that? Does it have a MACRO on it?

I have a Canon Digital Rebel too and am looking for a good lens...mine is the just 28-80 and it really won't do much exciting. Thanks!

Posted by: Feisty at March 20, 2006 08:29 PM

These are without a doubt, the most stunning photographs you've ever taken.

I feel a bit like I'm splitting open lately, painful and scary and wondrous and awful and awe-full.

These pictures are like anti-depressants in the form of pixels.

The world is a better place with your vision.
