The Perfect Kiss

The Perfect Kiss, at a romantic civil ceremony last weekend, San Rafael, CA, Canon Digital Rebel XTi

It was my final day guest blogging over at Design Mom. What a fun week it was surfing around for goodies to share! One of my favorite things I came across was this photo on Flickr.Makes me wish I had a gorgeous wall of books that I could organize by color.

My friend Brian told me about Moo.com where you can make mini photo cards and stickers directly from your Flickr account. Perfect for the photographer's calling card, the mom who wants to share photos of her wee one, or featuring your budding new business as a craftperson.

Okay. So Andrea? This is all a little too weird for me. So much so that I'm going to spill all my weird you-and-me linkage right here on Design Mom's lovely blog.

First of all, one of my all-time best friends, Ric O'Connell, came to my house a few years ago wearing one of your awesome Superhero tshirts (a black one). He wore it all weekend and I fell madly in love with it. Never forgot it.

Then, one of my other all-time best friends Larry Dew started a blog and lo! There you were, with me, in his links list!

Then you recently wrote on your blog all about your good friend Jonatha Brooke. I was a designer at Blue Thumb records back in the day, and was one of the designers of her first solo album. I love Jonatha. Her second solo album, 10 cent Wings, is one of my desert island discs.

Then you show up as one of Design Mom's guest bloggers. Design Mom is not only one of my favorite bloggers, but also one of my favorite people. She's one of my desert island bloggers.

And now? You write a post about Jill Platner? Jill's former roommate and BFF was the sister of my college roommate and BFF, who lives in SF and is also very close friends with Ric and Larry. Susan Sueiro? Not sure if you know her. So when I lived in NYC and Susan would come visit, we would always go see her sister and Jill and hang out in their awesome loft in NoHo. I have a Jill Platner ring (c.1994) that I cherish, and she outfitted us all in her signature spiny necklaces at Susan's wedding in 1996.

Whew. That's enough for me. Sorry to hijack your comments section with this long personal note. But when I saw that Jill P. post over at Design Mom, my head nearly exploded.

(ps. this comment is cross-posted at design mom. i just realized you probably never saw it there as your guest mom gig had ended, so i added it over here.)

(pps. your friends who were at blogher probably already told you this, but your superhero necklaces got a standing ovation in the "Art of Storytelling" session. i'm saving up to get a chlorine for myself.)

I love moo cards too! I just made some for my husband as networking cards-- he's still a student of chiropractic but has less than a year left of school. I think these cards will help him stand out a bit form his peers.

that's so funny i tried doing this with my books not too long ago--thought it would look neat...but didn't turn out like what's in the photo! maybe i don't have enough books!

Ooooh! I love MOO. I got the cards when they were doing a promotion and giving away 10 moo cards for free. I am hooked, and people respond so well to them. Its a fun thing to use as a calling card and you can also add links to your other websites on the back.

Hi Andrea,

I have been reading your blog for years. Love it. And love the posts you did this week on Design Mom. It was fun for me to read them because it reminded me of when my little girl was growing out of the little tiny baby phase and more and more of me was coming back, then life became a mish-mash of me and her. It is lovely to see more of you. Thanks
Maria

Oh Andrea,
thank you so much for the moo link, I was just searching something like that for my wee one's thank you cards. You are my superhero!
Hugs

First off, Moo.com rocks! I have a set and everyone loves them.

Now onto more important stuff, Where are all the WHITE books?? I had so many, and they were so distracting amongst my colorful books that I removed them all and put them on some other shelves...Then I organized the rest by color...I think there might be a little OCD involved in this process... :o)

moo are the absolute hype - just shortly before they launched, I found myself bothered about that I couldn't get a printer to print me cards half as high as a standard card at a reasonable price. I ended up printing them myself, and then came moo...

They just released their latest secret: mini sticker books! I have compiled my photos and am going to order today.

Help! Does anyone know where Sasha's fantastic tank top (shown in the Kiwi necklace photo) comes from? I love it and the necklace both--it is a gorgeous combination.

By the way, all of the recent photos are great!!

btw, i remember a post from you a long time ago about someone coming into a library and color grouping the books. did rebar do that?

what a small, small world! i have that photo on my ipod; it's one of my favorites, too. it's amazing how even something as huge as the internet can still connect people in the littlest of ways. for five seconds, i stared stupidly at the photo on your page, wondering how the hell you could have known of that one. this photograph was taken by a guam blogger. she's an amazing photographer, and a real foodie. you can find her at http://scentofgreenbananas.blogspot.com/
she takes amazing photos, and the fact that she hails from guam doesn't hurt any!

yummy kissing photo. divine!

i have a friend in England that organizes her bookshelves by color. she has a picture of it and it looks like a mini version of this photo. i teased her when i first saw it but really...it's a piece of art!

love & miss you.
kisses to ben.
