July 30, 2007Assignment #1: Photograph someone in a glass of water
When your brain is fried and dinner conversation gets boring, you can always photograph your friends in a glass of water! I am thinking about offering up a creative photo assignment each Monday that you could post on your blogs. What do you guys think? You can list a link to your post in the comments.
In other news, I was sad to have missed Blogher this year. I am living vicariously through Jen Lemen and all of her wonderful tales from the weekend. She and Magpie Girl along with Krystyn Heide led a workshop called "It's not your size, it's your passion that matters." These remedies for small blogger blues is so inspiring. Were your ears burning the entire weekend of BlogHer?? You and your necklaces were all the rage and you weren't even there. That's the kind of power you hold, you superhero you! I missed you but wore my necklace all weekend and you were so on my mind!! The comment I posted yesterday seems to be lost - if not: sorry for the double post! Yeah! Love the assignment idea! How fun was that... here's mine! Posted by: lainakay at August 1, 2007 02:30 PMa Monday assignment sounds like fun! Andrea, Thanks for the props! I'm sure my hits are through the roof as all your lovelies come for a visit at my place. :-) Jen and I are cooking up lots of ideas for small is beautiful bloggers and hope to have a special suprise for them up in the blogosphere in about a week. Lots of love from my virtual pad to yours. Rachelle I am sorry you missed Blogher too! In a way it was like you were there... everywhere I turned I saw your necklaces. It was like an unspoken sisterhood connected everyone who wore them. Posted by: Krystyn at August 1, 2007 11:56 AMi would definitely be down for this. so hilarious... love! Posted by: KAGE at July 30, 2007 06:10 PMI would totally be down for some monday fun! (http://hulaseventy.blogspot.com) Posted by: andrea at July 30, 2007 05:40 PMHi Andrea (and all you lovely Superheroes out there!), Just wanted to share that I thought about yesterday's post -- and the comments it generated -- while I was walking home from work last night... ... and it occured to me: who would want a mother who thought she was perfect? Who didn't have the capacity for self-reflection? Who wasn't open to growing and learning from the process? How many of us have been blessed with a mother who continually engages with her own flaws and shortcomings -- and ours -- and dares to love us and her self anyway? I wholeheartedly agree with all the wise souls who wrote in yesterday: love is what you are giving your child. Your little boy will appreciate your capacity to question and challenge your self as he grows into his own story and wonders at his own marvellous imperfections. As always, thank you for sharing. Thank you for being open to receiving too. x Yes, yes, yes! I love assignments : ) Posted by: Holly at July 30, 2007 03:27 PMCreative photo assignments? Oh! Yes, please! Same as Josie... Also, Camie is the milk bones model! I am laughing so hard because I actually have those biscuits at home and a few weeks ago my family and I were looking at the box and were like, how do you get to be on the box, I wonder if me and Daisy (my dog) could get on the box? That is such a funny thing to me. Posted by: lena at July 30, 2007 10:29 AMSame as Josie... Also, Camie is the milk bones model!
