1. I find extreme joy in photographing lizzards (I am now planning to try and take a picture of one through a glass of water).
2. I am not really temperature specific about food: meaning I really don't mind cold pizza or semi-warm coffee.
3. "Things" make me happy so I tend to collect them...
4. I have a powerful voice.
5. Rubbing my feet together helps me fall asleep too; I have done it all my life!!!
6. I do not particularly like talking on the phone and I usually forget to "call you right back."
7. The cd in my car right now is Def Leppard, Pyromania. The cd before that was the new one from Grace Potter, she has such soul!!! When I get back into my car I plan to put on Barry Manilow.
8. I am a little prissy.
9. I enjoy doing things alone, it gives me time to think.
10. I believe a good long bath can change your outlook on any given situation.

1. I love to laugh and I laugh A LOT. I, too, find myself laughing hysterically at the most inopportune or inappropriate times,
like church or work. I can't help it. I have numerous times achieved a state of laughing so hard it's turned into the silent,
not breathing kind where I have actually feared dying from laughter. I have an emergency anti-laughing "thought," I envision this
one thought to bring me back down when I shouldn't be laughing or really need to stop. It always works.

2. I love to travel and constantly find myself dreaming of the next trip or trips that I want to take. Above all else,
I often dream of returning to Hawaii again. Sometimes I actually cry because I miss Hawaii so much. It's my favorite place.

3. I love the smell of coffee, love coffee flavored things (ice cream), but coffee itself gives me a terrible
stomachache.

4. I am really shy (working on this, getting tremendously better) and self-deprecating. I've started numerous journals over the years
but always stop because I start to read previous entries, get disgusted with myself and stop. I've wanted to try blogging, but am
afraid of the same thing happening and also fear of leaving the comfort of anonymity.

5. I write on myself. Not on purpose. At the end of each day, I have a palm covered in ink. This was a great mystery that took me 19 years
(since elem. school) to catch myself "in the act." Apparently it's all in the manner in which I hold my pen when turning a page or doing
something between writing things. I hold my pen so that the tip rests on my palm, depositing small lines and dots of ink everytime I do this.
When I caught myself doing this, I yelled out loud in a room full of people.

6. My foot clicks when I walk.

7. I hate the sound of clipping fingernails. A lady once sat next to me in a movie theater and proceded to give herself a manicure. I
just about died.

8. I almost always mispronounce the word salivate. I have to stop and think about it and usually still end up saying
it wrong.

2. I've been waiting almost two years to get one of your necklaces, and I finally ordered one today! Yeah!

1. It's not the eye doctor, but the masseuse, who gets to me. I *love* getting massages, but have to control the nearly uncontrollable laughter when she gets to my legs. They're just so ticklish!

2. I must have Burt's Bees lip balm with me at all times. It used to be Chapstick. I upgraded.

3. I've never been stung by a bee. Unless you count that thing I stepped on in England's Lake District. But we're still not sure what it was.

4. My husband says I can talk to anyone about anything. My secret? Wherever you are, whatever you're doing: pretend you belong and no one will know any different.

5. I'm slightly obsessed with whether or not I want to have children.

6. I discovered avocados a few years ago and am in love.

7. I'm a night owl who gets my days and nights mixed up.

hehee. i do the same thing when i go to the eye doctor. it takes everything i have in me to try and maintain my calm. needless to say my doctor finds me very strange.

random facts: (what a fun idea)

1. My middle fingernails look different from each other on each hand because I bite my nails, my right one more, much as I'd like not to (and sometimes don't).
2. My children have names from different cultures (Irish and Israeli - Maeve and Noam).
3. I am intensely self-critical.
4. I think I am beautiful beyond description. (both #3 and #4 co-exist somehow).
5. I have very square big toes.
6. One of my favourite meals right now is quinoa, avocadoes, and blueberries (yum).
7. Coffee makes me sick.
8. I love acupuncture.

1. Every year I order 4 boxes of Thin Mint Cookies. I will eat the first box in one sitting. I never said I was proud of this. :)

2. I stand in my living room when I am home alone with the remote control as my microphone, turn the stereo up very loud, proceed to belt out my favorite song...all the while I imagine that I am on-stage in front of a million people. (and no....I am not one of those freaks from American Idol who only think they can sing)

3. I can talk like one of the munchkins from the Wizard of Oz. I once left a voice message singing the Lollipop Guild song in full voice for a girl who is known to be very afraid of the Little People. I can also talk like Kermit the Frog.

4. I'm the girl who lets her bedroom and car get unbelievably messy....clothes everywhere, can't find anything. I'll clean it up perfectly and within a week it's a complete disaster again. At least I manage to keep common areas clean and organized.

5. I've been told that I am a great listener and give really good advice no matter the subject. I am blunt without being offensive.

That's all I can come up with for now.

1. 'Just Like Heaven' is my favorite Cure song. It's swoon-worthy.

2. I love fireworks. I laugh, jump up and down, clap my hands together and yell 'Yay!' a lot. This can be embarassing, but it is beyond my control.

3. When my friend passed away, it felt like a giant hole had opened up in my heart. I am afraid to speak to people about it, because I am worried they will think I should be over it.

4. I saw a fairy once, when I lived in LA and was having a rocky time. It could have been a trick of the light, or a bird from a strange angle, but I'd much prefer to think it was a fairy.

5. Sometimes I still sleep with my teddy bear. His name is 'Frankenteddy' because he is very old and patched and missing an eyeball.

6. Graceland is the place I most want to visit in America.

7. My heart has an amazing capacity to love people who have been unkind to me. I give myself a very hard time about it, but really it's this amazing gift of faith.

8. Playing piano is my safest place in the world.

1. I read magazines backwards, fold down the corners of articles I want to read, then re-read it from the front to back.

2. I eat ice cream off my upside down spoon. I will scoop up a bite then turn my spoon upside down to eat it. (If only my waistline would allow me to eat it twice a day! Jealous!)

3. I count with my fingers, even if it's one plus two. It's not that I need to, I actually do well with math, I just do.

4. I eat M&Ms in color order only: brown, blue, red, green, yellow, orange - because orange is the best it has to be last. I sometimes separate them into piles and then eat them by twos, or I'll put them in a big pile and dig them out in color order).

5. I eat suckers so I don't bite my nails during intense movies or plays. I almost always have a sucker in my purse (unless i've already eaten it that day)

I can't think of two more (though, looking at these I'm sure it has something to do with food)...these 5 were tough and I know I have weird habits. Hmmm. Good thinker for the morning. Thanks!

One random fact. I "air type" with my toes while reading or looking at words. I "type" the words.

Another random fact, I see often see action words quite literally. Example, when I say or think "poetry slam" I see the word "poetry" slamming into a wall.

I love the photo of you and little Ben on Jen Lemen's site. What beautiful eyes you both have.

I laughed hysterically reading about you laughing hysterically during eye exams.

I also laugh hysterically at the most inappropriate times... like my dear friend Jason's funeral. My brother and I laughed because, there we were, missing him beyond imagination and damned if they didn't play the Smurfs song. Jason would have cracked up, too, so I think it's probably okay.

I have two facts:

1. I LOVE Ben's shirt!
2. I am in awe at how big he is getting!

I can walk into a used bookstore and find the PERFECT book for someone, even if I don't really know them...every time I give a book as a gift, the recipient always says, "This is my favorite poet, author, etc...how did you know?" It is just a weird, random superpower. Great shirt, by the way-Ben's, not yours....

I get the direction thing. I always say right or left when giving directions; never north, south, east or west. Any direction I happen to be facing is North.

1. I cannot say the word "south". It comes out as "sthouth" and makes the children I teach giggle.
2. I am scared of cats. Even cute, little, cuddley kittens. They still got those teeth and claws...
3. Each one of my toes has been broken at least once.
4. Every so often I cruise garbage piles and collect furniture. I then drive to my friend's homes and set up "rooms" on their lawns. I've been doing this for years and some people still don't know it's me.
5. One of my secret dreams is to work on a puppet show, like Sesame Street.

1. I love to tell dumb jokes. (the kind that make people groan and laugh mostly out of politeness or pity...)

3. I always have to have a "lucky" charm with me, to feel safe and protected. Like a crystal or a certain "lucky" item of jewelry or clothing.
4. I am obsessed with lip gloss.
